Beccahamians Click here to return to the Match Report Index page. Report written by: E-L Emery It was our first game of the season and to start with the turnout was great. We had a squad of 19 players which is clearly a record. Things are looking really good if we keep this up.
The scrums were strong, as usual, and we walked all over them in the rucks and mauls. Unfortunately there were a lot of dropped balls and we weren't quick enough on regaining them. We did however do a couple of good runs on the blind side that almost resulted in tries, we just need to work on the support. Even though we haven't really played as a team before I must say that we did really well and we kept our heads up most of the game. We went out on the pitch to have fun and learn from a friendly game of rugby and that's just what we did.
Also a big “Hoorah!” for Laura O who played her first game and scored her first try that was converted by Emma-Louise.
After the match followed the usual drinking fines which resulted in some people being sick out the window. Woman of the match was Spanky for a great game as scrumhalf and pussies on the pitch were Toni and Vicky for sitting in the shade during their second half on the bench instead of supporting the rest of us.
Big thanks to everybody who turned up, including our supporters from the men's team and injured Venus players. On the drinking team was: JTG, Chico , Alan, Gareth, Pat, Matt, Tracy , Sean S, Sam, Tank and Charlie A.
